Grizzly Bear
Recently I went to the Grizzly Bear with the Unknown Mortal Orchestra concert at Massy Hall. I haven't been to a concert in ages so it was nice to go again. I went to the concert with my wonderful sister. Although our seats were not as great as we would have liked it didn't seem to matter as the concert was amazing anyways.
Normally before I go to a concert I listen to all the music before hand and kinda psych myself up. This time I was super busy the week before the concert so this did not happen, I didn't even know the name of the opening band till the time of the concert.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra was better than I thought they would be. After the first song I wasn't sure I liked the band but they started to grow on me. I have since then purchased the album and have been listening to it.
Now for the mail act GRIZZLY BEAR!
They were sooo good. I have never seen them before so I didn't know what to expect. I was very suprised at how good they were, better than I was expecting. They was so happy to be playing at Massey Hall and in Toronto. They suprised the audience with Owen Pallet and Feist. Owen Played along side with them for two songs and feist for one song right before the encore. The played mostly songs from their new album however they played some classics towards the end to please everone.

Bagel head GROSS
Okay people seriously what is up with this. This is absolutly disgusting and I do not see why anyone would ever want to do this to themselves. For those who have yet to hear about bagel head it is this weird thing in Japan, where the doctor injects saline injections into our forehead and then press's on the center so it looks like their is a whole in your forehead. That is just discusting and by no means does it look good.
I cant even put up a picture it grosses me out so much and why tortue my readers. If your curious just go to google and type it in.
If this comes to Canada and becomes popular I will be shocked as it is truly ugly and just plan old stupid.

Where did the summer go?
Where did the summer go?
Back to school I go. For my 4th year and final year.. hopefully... well thats the plan. This year I am going to be super busy with full time school, work and placement. I am super excited to get going but nervous at the same time because its my last year!
Once again my clothing has to change as it is getting ever so cold. I have been addicted to coloured pants and cant seem to get enough. Its time to bring out the scarves and gloves which makes me sad because that means winter is coming.
This year at the CNE I purchased a new winter headband and am excited to get to wear it. I am excited to bring out my many winter boots as well.
Winter may be my least favorite season however it means comfort for me. Comfy clothes and being bundled up!
I am going to try and post more regularly and my winter trend collum is in progress.
Thanks for reading, ps. this is my inspiration for this winter.
Love always

Birthday, photoshoots and good old times
Recently I turned a year older and celebrated my 21st birthday with a bang in the falls with my wonderful boyfriend. He took me there to celebrate and eat my favorite ribs from ruby tuesdays. We also played mini golf because that is is must and went to the casino. The Casino is a confuzing place to me. It was not for me. I kept getting lost and we gave up shortly after an hour.
The next day Paul and I went to Guelph to do a photoshoot for a clothing store just opening up called Grey Rock Clothing. They only sell environmently friendly clothing as well as sweatshop free. The photoshoot was a lot of fun and we went all around guelph to take the photos.
Grey Rock Clothing is not my style however the clothing was really nice and is all for a good cause. If you are ever in guelph make sure to check it out! The photos are all being edited by Paul and are looking amazing.
Bye for now

Beach Day
Beach time! Today my mother, sister and I headed to Port Dover for a wonderful day at the beach. Port dover is a family tradition we go every year and I will continue to go every ear for the rest of my life.
This year I have noticed a lot of white bikini's. What is with this? Unless you are super tanned this is a huge no no ladies. It makes you stand out yes... but not in a good way.
White pants as well. Who told these girls that white pants looks good... not be I can tell you that.
Ladies this needs to stop.. throw out those white pants, bikini's and move on. You can do so much better.
Sorry for the rant but it had to be said.
Here is a picture of my favorite resturant in port dover.
Until another day

It is nearing exam time and summer will officially begin for me.
My must have piece for this summer is a maxi dress. They can be worn on any occation. I wear it to work, out on a date and even just around the house. You cant go wrong with a maxi dress. Here are a couple of my favorites:
These are just two of my favorite ones. And wait and see they will be huge this summer.

Summer School
Summer has not begun for me. I decided to take two electives over the summer to reduce my work load next year for fourth year! I am taking popular music as well as religion and society. The popular music class is interestig and is reminding me of old music i used to listen to as a kid.
Remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTRfRK0ahYs
This song takes me back to the days when my mom would drive us around in the Mustang and we would sing old tunes as a family. This caused so many fun memories as a kid and this class is making me remember all my favorites.
Are covers a cop out?
This is a question that has come to mind when I have been in class. My answer is yes unless you take a song and change it up and make it new again. Back in the 30s and 40s white artists would take rhythm and blues songs and copy it for the tin pan alley listeners. This is where I believe covers originated. Now it is something that is used to beef up a concert if they dont have enoufgh songs to play a set as well as a way for a band to find their own unique tune.
Often I like the cover more than the origional such as I perfer Amy Milan's version of I will follow you into the dark than the origional by Death cab for cuttie.
What do you think?

Real Estate
As the weather gets nicer and nicer my music seems to be getting beachier. Recenly I have been re-introduced to Real Estate the Band. I am completly in love. It chears me up on a rainy day and gets me ready for the days's tasks. My sister and I have purchased Real Estate tickets! I am super excited and cant wait till the day finally comes.
As the weather changes my wardrobe has to take a complete u-haul. Here come the dresses, flats and summer colours. My prediction for this summer is that the pastel colours are going to be in and huge so get on it now!
I am so excited for summer and am looking for a New Job for the first time in 5 years. I am excited but scared to say good bye to Canada's Wonderland.
Till next time

NYC
Hello All,
You may be wondering where I have been. During reading week I went to NYC with the wonderful boyfriend. We went via Megabus which is an 11 hour bus ride each way but it was totally worth it. We spent a week there and had the time of our lives. We went to so many different places such as The Top of the Rock, Central Park, The Top of the Rock, The seinfeld resturant, the high line and many other things. We even got a chance to the the New York City Ballet perform Romeo and Juliet. It had to have been the best I have ever seen. When I get the chance photo's from the trip will be posted. Just keeping it short and sweet.
Now back to life: School, work and placement it never ends.
Love Always

Patrick Watson
As many of my readers know I am in love with the band Patrick Watson as well as the singer Patrick Watson. The band is so creative and every concert seems to be different and better each time. Recently I saw Patrick Watson play at the Danforth Music Hall. It was amazing. They had a band called Half Moon Run open for them. Typically this type of music is not something I gravitate towards. But for some reason I loved it! Maybe the reason I loved them is because the came before my love Patrick Watson.

Canada Goose Love em or hate em
Last week I was at the mall deciding if I should conform to the norm and buy a Canada Goose coat. After a lot of consideration I decided against it. Here is why. Why look like every other girl on the street? Why wear this big puffy coat that makes me look like the michelin man? I decided to go for the sleak more fashionable wool coat. It has been super warm and has this huge hood on it.
After talking to a couple of friends as well as an employee at a store that sells Canada Goose I came to the realization that even the lighest, smallest, least puffy coat is too warm for the city. They are meant for the artic and in my opinion should only be worn in the Artic.
The Chilliwack:

The Chilliwack:
The Chilliwack is meant for +5- -10. You may wonder why I am saying this is too warm for the city. Reason being is that the down helps keep the body heat inside so you feel like its 15 degrees inside. That is way to much when you are wearing sweaters as well as a proper base layer.
For now no Canada Goose Coat for me. Maybe next year.
Bye for now,
TyvekHSB
