Montreal

This weekend my sister and I went to Montreal to go to a concert. We saw Patrick Watson and Timber Timbre. The concert took place outside of Montreal in Sainte-Therese. Here no one spoke english so it was quite fun to get around. I speak french however I find some french speaking people talk too fast and I don't always understand what they are saying.

The concert was amazing! It took place in a college theatre. First Timber Timbre opened the show. They played songs from their new album Creep on Creeping On. I am in love with this new album. It is not yet released however it has been leaked. The songs are creepy and interesting. Timber Timbre sung almost every song from their new album and I have decided my favorite songs are Women, Lonesome Hunter, and Bad Ritual, and Black Water. This was my second time seeing Timber Timbre and,  I am seeing Timber Timbre again this time in Toronto on April 8, and I am very excited to see them once again.

After Timber Timbre sung Patrick Watson came on to play an incredible show. He played some classic songs like Big Bird In A Small Cage, and then he played some new songs not yet recorded. Im excited for what is to come. I can't wait for the new album to be released! Patrick Watson Please release ASAP!. He also did a really cool improv song. He asked for words or ideas from the crowd and then used the words to create a song on the spot. The song was odd, as it was about  "Rabbits going down a hole" "crocodile's" and "put your arms around me".  The song sounded like it could be a song on one of his albums although I don't know how he would incorporate it into his album.

After the concert my sister and I had an interesting adventure getting back to Montreal. We missed the last bus and ended up splitting a cab with two random french people who were at the concert. It was entertaining because we told them we don't speak french so, in the cab when they were talking about us we could understand them. It was entertaining. We arrived back to the hotel and slept in the most comfortable bed ever!. I quite enjoyed that.

The next day my sister and I went shopping and eating on St-Catherine's Street. I purchased a few things: A dress, three shirts, and a spring jacket that I am dying to wear. Their are a couple of stores that are a must for me to go to. Simons, Boudoir, and olivia. If you are heading to Montreal you should defiantly check out these stores. Our day was entertaining because we were so tired from our adventure that everything was hilarious and we kept needing to take breaks. We spent a lot of time in food courts sitting and laughing and trying to understand the surrounding people.

After our day of shopping and eating we headed to Berri- Uqam to take the Mega Bus home. The bus was pretty empty so we both got two seats to ourselves. I actually got a bit of sleep which was needed as we arrived in Toronto at 330 am and i had work the next day at 9.

I want to go back again. Its always fun heading out with my sister on an adventure. Emily lets go back :)

Here is a link to one of Timber Timbre's  new songs.

Mumford and Sons

I've loved Mumford and Sons for a while now, however lately my love has grown. I can't stop listening to them. The lyrics and the music just work so well together and are perfect for any of my moods. I feel my love will continue to grow in the future. I get in these moods where when ever I listen to music I tend to listen to the same band over and over again. And Mumford is the one right now.

The Cave is my favorite song. And i cant get enough...

Enjoy

Love Always,
Heidi

Last night I had a dream we were inseparably entwined

Recently my time has been occupied with a lot of school work. So i haven't been doing very much interesting stuff to blog about. Recently for a school project I had to counsel someone so I counseled my sister. It was hilarious. She quite possibly is one of the funniest people I know and she did a great job! I wish i could post the video, but its kinda embarrassing and she would be upset with me. So i'm not going to.

Thanks Emily :) You're hilarious and made the assignment bearable.

One of my loves

One of my favorite things to do it see bands play live. I love the atmosphere and their is something about seeing a band live that just makes me so happy. I absolutely love it! My sister got me addicted and I'm glad she did. The first concert I ever attended was Metric at the Masonic Temple. Since that day I have attended numerous concerts in Toronto as well as in Montreal.

Plants and Animals, and Karkwa

Last night I attended the Plants and Animals and Karkwa concert. Karkwa is a french band from Quebec that I'm completely in love with. I admit that I sometimes don't understand what their singing about but I still love them.

I attended the concert with my sister. We originally purchases tickets because Karkwa was the opening band. They were really good live. I enjoyed seeing them at Lee's Palace because its a smaller venue. I think that there type of music is better in smaller venues. Karkwa was 2010's winner of the Polaris Music Prize and they deserve it, I completely understand and see why they were chosen. I can't wait for there next album.

Plants and Animals were equally amazing. I am not a huge fan however I did enjoy their lyrics and the band was very energetic. I thought they were better live than they are on their CD. They got the crowd singing and dancing and it was a lot of fun.

I would recommend listening and seeing Karkwa and Plants and Animals. They are awesome bands! My favorite song by Karkwa is Les Enfants De Beyrouth and by Plants and Animals it would be Good Friend.

The only thing that annoyed me about the concert was that doors opened at 9 but Karkwa the opening band didn't come on till 10:30. Yes bands don't start when the doors open I think an hour and a half was a tad long to wait.

I have placed the links to Les Enfants De Beyrouth and also Good Friend.

Hope you enjoy them

Love always,
Heidi xoxo
